Join us as we welcome archaeologist and TV presenter Raksha Dave (from Time Team and Digging for Britain) to celebrate her new children's book Lessons From Our Ancestors: Equality, Inclusivity and Sustainability in the Ancient World.
The book takes young people on an unforgettable journey back through time as Raksha casts a spotlight on forgotten histories and misrepresented stories. Using 50 objects from around the world, this groundbreaking book offers a fresh perspective on our past to inspire you to build a better future.
Raksha will do a reading from the book, followed by a book signing. After this, attendees will have the opportunity to handle objects from the museum's collections and learn about the past in a hands-on way.
Copies of the book will be available to purchase in the museum shop.

About the speaker
Raksha Dave is a British-Asian archaeologist known for her work in making archaeology accessible. She has been a presenter on Time Team, Digging for Britain, among many other programmes. She is the President of the Council for British Archaeology, and a patron of its Young Archaeologists Club. She is an Honorary Research Associate of the Pitt-Rivers Museum.
