An evening to explore and celebrate the lives of three extraordinary women: a Roman skeleton from Arbury, excavated in the 1950s by Museum Assistant Curator Clare Fell, written about by Slyvia Plath. Find out about the latest research into the skeleton.
In August 1952 an excavation took place in Arbury, Cambridge. Led by the Museum’s Assistant Curator Clare Fell, the dig revealed a small group of burials. One of the stone coffins and the female skeleton it contained were on display when Sylvia Plath studied in Cambridge. Her poem All the Dead Dears is about this skeleton.
