About
Dr Ayesha Fuentes is an objects conservator and researcher specialising in the care and handling of archaeological and anthropological collections. She is a graduate of the UCLA/Getty MA Program in the Conservation of Archaeological and Ethnographic Materials and in 2021 completed her PhD at SOAS University of London, writing on the use of human remains in Tibetan and Himalayan ritual objects.
From 2021 to 2024, she was the Isaac Newton Trust Research Associate in Conservation, working as a conservator to assist the MAA Stores Move project while investigating access, ethics and collections care as knowledge exchange. Until July 2025, she worked on the Hidden in Plain Sight project, a collaboration between Queen Mary University London and Cambridge University Library, and is currently a Research Affiliate at MAA.
