ARCHIVED EVENT

Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
Free, no booking required
About the event
Ivan Kupala Night is a midsummer celebration of sun and summer in Ukraine. Join us to enjoy a performance by the Malva Voice for Ukraine community choir and immerse yourself in Ukrainian folk songs within the magical setting of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
This is a pop-up concert, so you don’t need to book tickets in advance, just show up at the Museum on the day. Donations will be invited to support the work of Ukrainian paramedics through Hospitaller Ukraine Aid (through a JustGiving page), or to Malva Voice for Ukraine themselves to help with the development of their community choir.
About the choir
Malva Voice for Ukraine is a Cambridge-based community group. This choir is composed of Ukrainian women who have arrived in the city since April 2022, escaping the war, as well as those who were already living in the UK. Together they develop, maintain and promote public interest and appreciation for Ukranian music, as well as nurturing and promoting Ukraine's culture and customs. They also support engagement and inclusion for Ukrainians in UK society through events and other charitable activities. The choir is led by the Honoured Artist of Ukraine Tetiana Kysliak.
