Thursday 1 October 2026 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street, Cambridge, CB2 3DZJoin us for a relaxed evening of sketching amongst awe-inspiring artefacts.
About
Build your confidence sketching from collections. Learn to use your sketchbook as a visual diary, to document not just the visual aspects of an object but also your personal feelings, ideas, and observations. The goal is not perfection but to rediscover the joy of drawing, interpreting things in your own unique way, and turning the act of creating into a playful adventure.
We'll welcome you with a glass of wine or a soft drink and our friendly instructors will lead you in a short session of ‘slow-looking’ before you, inspired by the collection, can try your hand at sketching, all while you enjoy after-hours access to the Museum.
No previous knowledge or experience of drawing is required and beginners are welcome.
This stand-alone session will be run by Kate Phizacklea, our visitor Services manager, who has a background in teaching History of Art and Design, and our Front of House Assistant Suzie Dawson, who works in paint, print media and stained glass.
Tickets £20, booking required.
