MAA’s representative collections are accessible on European Collected Library of Artistic Performance (ECLAP) through a two-year research project (2011–13) with support from a grant from the European Commission. Project ECLAP was initiated in 2010 with over 20 European participant countries, and is growing in membership and aims. It involves designing and implementing best practice for collections management, and facilitating access to the libraries, collections and archives of some of the seminal institutions of performing arts within Europe. The project builds tools for metadata ingestion, establishes collections based digital networks, and facilitates the participating institutions to enter digital Europe. MAA has made significant contributions to the project towards best practice policies of IPR and access, and for exploring the sociality of digital technologies. Keeping pace with the goals of promoting e-learning facilities, MAA’s contributions to ECLAP are also published on Europeana, the European Digital Library. The project has been led by Dr Robin Boast with research assistance from Dr Sudeshna Guha.

Two million years of human history. One million artefacts. Countless astonishing stories.
