Standard opening hours:

Monday - CLOSED
Tuesday to Saturday - 10am - 5pm
Sunday - 12pm - 5pm

Entry

We do not operate a booking system - you are welcome to just turn up to the museum any time during our opening hours. If you are coming with a group, please do get in touch in advance.

You can visit our shop, whether you are seeing the rest of the museum or not, which has a a range of unique and interesting gifts, toys and souvenirs, as well as greetings cards and other stationery. Everything is fair trade and ethically sourced, from the jewellery and scarves to the bags, mugs and bowls – and all inspired by the Museum's collections.

Post-medieval ring sundial
Ring sundial. The months of the year are marked either side of a slit running along the circumference of the ring. A sliding ring is inset within the groove, with a small square knob and single perforation to allow sunlight to pass through the slit and onto the inner surface. The inner surface is inscribed with lines and numbers for the hours from one to twelve.
