GALLERIES

The Museum's displays are arranged over three floors, accessible by stairs or lift:

Ground Floor
The Clark gallery presents British and World Archaeology, ranging from the earliest hominid tools discovered by Louis Leakey and others in east Africa to Roman and medieval finds from the local area.

First Floor
The Maudslay gallery displays art and material culture from around the world, including Pacific objects from the voyages of Cook, and great works of African, Asian, and native American sculpture.

Second Floor
The Andrews gallery is dedicated to temporary exhibits, based on the research of curators and students. "Assembling Bodies" an exhibition exploring technologies that make bodies visible opens March 2009. The gallery also features the surviving section of Inigo Jones' magnificent choir screen, made originally for Winchester Cathedral in 1637-8.
