Return
The expedition crew judged the trip to be an overall failure, since they were unable to cross into Melville Bay to map out new areas of the Arctic (Smith 2004). However, the team returned with a great number of photographs as well as anthropological and archaeological material from their voyage. Perhaps it was not such a failure after all.
From Isabell Bay, the Heimen crossed Baffin Bay, rounded Cape Farewell and arrived safely at Aberdeen on 15th September.
