Crew members with hunted animal
South West Coast, Greenland
"About 3 Fletcher and I were called by Wordie with news of a seal ahead. He and John had missed two, both bladdernose. Fletcher and I prepared for action and he killed it stone dead, whereupon Jens steered a dead straight course, for the first time in his life, and knocked the [ice] floe to bits under it. Of course it sank. A big seal with pretty markings. Later on I shot at another hooded seal but hit too low in the throat and it got away." (Dalgety, 1 August 1934)
