Kayak
The kayak plays a highly significant role in the livelihoods of the Inuit both in Greenland and Baffin Island. The kayaks from these areas are quite distinctive from one another, a fact noted by Dalgety. In the 1934 accounts of Wordie and Dalgety, there are numerous references to Inuit coming out to meet the crew in kayaks. In his journal, Dalgety describes a man concerned about the welfare of his kayak since it was his sole method of getting home.
