Greenland Islands
Between 26th June and 25th July the crew sailed between the islands off the west coast of Greenland in the direction of Melville Bay. These included Duck Island, Ryder Island, Bloch Island, and Devil's Thumb Island. While visiting, they took the opportunity to excavate, to observe birds, and to complete a general survey of the local geography. To the crew's great disappointment, Amdrup Island would be their northernmost destination as north Melville Bay was still impassably blocked by winter ice.
The Expedition travelled to and between the islands that dot the western coast of Greenland.
