Prior to departure the leaders of the expedition drew up a detailed list of necessities for the voyage, arranged by quantity, type and price. The front page of the list gives the total cost for the expedition: £2,325. 10. 6.
Subsequent pages include prices for such items as salt, beef, tobacco, spirits, and winter stores.
