Rubbing board, Kupeti
Tongan-style wooden board used to decorate barkcloth in eastern Fiji. The undecorated cloth was placed on top of the carved designs and rubbed with pigments. Occasionally, some of the patterns were highlighted free-hand. This board was also used as a food dish, the surface being concave at the back.
