Getting here

Cambridge is easily accessed by road, rail and has good transport links to London and towns across East Anglia

Bicycle

Cambridge is a 'bicycle friendly' city with many roads having designated cycle lanes. Bicycles can be rented from the railway station. Pick up a cycle map at the Tourist Office or through Cambridgeshire County Council's web pages. There are a number of bike racks outside the Museum.

Rail

Cambridge has good rail links, with frequent trains to and from London. The Museum is a 20 minute walk from the station; there is a taxi rank outside the station as well as regular buses into town.

Bus and Coach

There are regular coach services to Cambridge from many parts of the United Kingdom. National bus services stop at Parker's Piece which is a 5 minute walk from the Museum. Most local buses stop on Emmanuel Street, only a few minutes from the Museum.

Car

The Museum does not have parking available to members of the public. Once you have arrived in Cambridge, the best way to get into town is to use one of the five Park and Ride sites, situated at Cowley Road, Babraham Road, Newmarket Road, Madingley Road and Trumpington.

If you do wish to park in town, Lion Yard car park on Downing Street is a short walk from the Museum. Alternative parking may be found at Queen Anne Terrace Car Park (Gonville Place) or across town at Park Street. There is limited on-street (metered) parking on Regent Street and Trumpington Road.
