The Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology will be taking part in the University’s annual Festival of Ideas this October.

The Festival of Ideas is a University of Cambridge public engagement initiative that celebrates the arts, humanities and social sciences by showcasing a diverse mix of inspirational talks, performances, films, exhibitions and other creative displays.

This year’s festival runs from Wednesday 23 October – Sunday 3 November 2013.

Here are some of the events the museum is offering as part of the festival, all events take place at the museum unless otherwise stated:

23 October, 2.00 – 6.00pm
The Possessed Past, a symposium on The Lost World (part 2)
McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research
No booking necessart but spaces are limited.

26 October, 11.00am – 4.00pm
Fijian Craft Day
Suitable for children.

29 October – 2 November, 11.00am – 4.00pm
Build a Day of the Dead Altar
All ages. Drop in.

29 October, 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Animal Adventurer
All ages, suitable for children. Drop in.

30 October, 12.30pm – 4.00pm and 1 November, 12.30pm – 4.00pm
Fortune telling the Assyrian way
All ages. Drop in.
