Volunteers welcome: this carved wooden figure of a woman comes from the Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal, India

Volunteers are vital to the museum and there are many different ways in which you can help.

Front of House Volunteer

The museum’s front of house volunteers provide a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors and support other members of staff in supervising the galleries. In addition to dealing with enquiries from visitors, they support colleagues with additional needs and perform various other roles.

Please download a role description to find out more and, if you think you might be interested in joining the team, fill in a Volunteer Expression of Interest form and return it by email to the Visitor Services Manager or by post to Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street, Cambridge, CB2 3DZ.

Evaluation Volunteer

Evaluation volunteers help us to find out what people think of the Museum displays, events and activities. Volunteers can help by speaking directly to visitors or by entering interview and other data.

Please download a role description to find out more and, if you think you might be interested in joining the team, fill in a Volunteer Expression of Interest form and return it by email to the Outreach Organiser or by post to Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street, Cambridge, CB2 3DZ.

Events Volunteer

Events volunteers assist at free, drop-in events for families and adults held at MAA throughout the year. Events volunteers provide high-quality support for visitors to ensure they get the most out of the activities on offer.
