Volunteers are vital to the museum and there are many different ways in which you can help.

Front of House Volunteer

The museum’s front of house volunteers provide a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors and support other members of staff in supervising the galleries. In addition to dealing with enquiries from visitors, they support colleagues with additional needs and perform various other roles.

Pacific Currents Volunteer Explainer

Volunteer explainers assist visitors with their understanding and interpretation of the objects on display at MAA. They are friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated to the improvement of accessibility to the collections.

Events Volunteer

Events volunteers assist at free, drop-in events for families and adults held at MAA throughout the year. Events volunteers provide high-quality support for visitors to ensure they get the most out of the activities on offer.

Collections Volunteer

Collections volunteers assist with the storage, cataloging and understanding of MAA’s archaeological, anthropological and photographic collections.
